Resilient Leader Session
The Student Leadership Academy will conduct a self-paced leadership development program from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Student Union Palmetto Room on the Edinburg campus. Admission is free. For more information, call 665-2660.

Optometry Career
The Pre-Optometry Society will discuss optometry, how to apply for optometry school, fundraising and volunteering ideas from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. in Science Building Room 2.342 on the Edinburg campus. All students are welcome. Snacks will be provided.

Emerging Leaders Session
The Student Leadership Academy will host a class that challenges students to talk about their morals and values to ensure they are contributing a positive change in their community from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Union Palmetto Room on the Edinburg campus. Festival Dance Practice
The Chinese Language and Culture Association invites the campus community to join the group as it prepares for the Mid-Autumn Festival dance performance from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the University Recreational Center on the Edinburg campus. Distinguished Speaker Series

Albert Manero, an engineering innovator, executive director and founder of Limbitless Solutions, which helps disabled youth by manufacturing and distributing 3D-printing prosthetic limbs, will speak at 7 p.m. in the UTRGV Performing Arts Center in Edinburg. Fall Career Expo
The Career Center will host a Fall Career Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union’s Gran Salón on the Brownsville campus. Dress professionally and bring your résumé. Student ID is required for registration. For more information, call 665-2243.

Breakfast to Go
The Baptist Student Ministry will provide refreshments to students from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Main East Front Lawn in Edinburg.

Thursday
Blitz Thursdays Chess Tournament
The Chess Club will host a rated U.S. Chess Federation tournament from 4:30 to 8 p.m. in Student Academic Center 1.112A. Beginners are welcome. No membership is required and members will teach you how to play. For more information, call (932) 908-5462.

Student/Employer Social
The Career Center will host a social where students can meet potential employers from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Student Union Commons in Edinburg. Snacks and drinks will be provided. For more information, call 665-2243.

U.S. Navy SeaPerch Challenge
Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology Week will present the U.S. Navy SeaPerch Challenge from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District’s Aquatics Center, located at 315 N. 77 Sunshine Strip. For more information, call 665-3361.

Saturday
Community Day
Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology Week will conclude with Community Day from 3:45 to 9:30 p.m. on the Edinburg campus. The free event will feature concerts, speakers, hands-on science activities and much more. Food will be sold by university student organizations. For more information, call 665-3361.

Chess Tournament
The Chess Club will host a scholastic/open chess tournament from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Academic Center on the Edinburg campus. The event is open to players from kindergarten through 12th grade. An open section for non-scholastic players will also be available. For more information, call (932) 908-5462.

League of Legends Tournament
The eSport Association will host a uLoL 1v1 tournament from noon to 5 p.m. in Life and Health Sciences Building 1.402 on the Brownsville campus. The tournament will be run through Battlefly. Check-in time is 11:30 a.m. and the entry fee is $5. Competitors must register through uLoL to compete: http://ulol.na.leagueoflegends.com/. Prizes will be awarded. Food Sales
Pizza and drinks
The Japanese Animation Club will sell pizza and drinks in the Health Affairs Building West Gazebo from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday For more information, call 371-3306.

Hotdogs
The Student Association for Medical Spanish will sell hotdog combos from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the front lawn of the Mathematics and General Classroom building in Edinburg. They will also have chili and cheese, drinks and chips.

Shaved Ice/Raspas
The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization will sell Kona Ice from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in the University City Ballroom lawn on the Edinburg campus.

Pizza
The Rehab Club will sell pizza in the front lawn of the Mathematics and General Classroom building from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

The Health Occupations Students of America will sell pizza from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Library CTY B.
