Thomas Williams is a multidisciplinary redshirt senior from Huntington Beach, California, and an infielder for the UTRGV Baseball Team. Williams drove-in 55 runs, the 11th highest single season total in program history in the 2025 season.
Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: “I like being active. I like doing pickleball or surfing, anything active.”
Q: Who or what got you started in baseball?
A: “My father got me started in baseball. He taught all my siblings, and we’ve been doing that ever since.”
Q: What has made you continue baseball?
A: “I knew I wanted to go to school after high school, anyways, so I might as well play baseball while I’m doing it. During college, I started liking baseball even more.”
Q: Who has been your biggest inspiration or role model?
A: “My biggest inspiration would have to be my father. I look up to him, and he is someone I try to be every day.”
Q: Who is your favorite baseball player?
A: “My favorite current baseball player would be Jackson Holliday.”
Q: How do you mentally prepare a game?
A: “I just try to put myself in a mindset where I’m excited. I’m always looking forward to a game.”
Q: What kind of music do you listen to?
A: “I’ve been listening to a lot of country as of right now, Zach Bryan.”
Q: Which shows or movies do you like to watch?
A: “I’ve been watching ‘Dexter,’ and I just started watching ‘Suits.’”
Q: Do you have any hobbies?
A: “Just hanging out with my friends, and I want to get more into reading and just praying to God.”
Q: What do you like most about UTRGV?
A: “The people. Everyone around here and the people I’ve been in contact with here have been great people to be around. That’s my favorite part about the [Rio Grande] Valley.”
Q: What are your biggest goals?
A: “My biggest goal this year is to make it super regional as a team and make the Southland [Conference] Championship.”
