The following are among the incidents reported to University Police between Sept. 8 and 14.
Sept. 8
2:02 a.m.: A resident assistant reported hearing a woman scream, a loud bang and heavy footsteps in the Casa Bella apartments on the Brownsville campus. Security cameras later showed a man and woman running, but no signs of distress or criminal activity.
12:43 p.m.: A student injured himself with workout equipment at the University Recreation Center on the Edinburg campus. He refused medical services.
5:42 p.m.: An officer responded to a two-vehicle crash in Lot B-1 on the Brownsville campus. One student reported an injury but refused transportation after Emergency Medical Services arrived.
Sept. 9
7:53 a.m.: An officer assisted Border Patrol after an undocumented woman entered the Interdisciplinary Academic Building on the Brownsville campus. A woman officer found her in a restroom on the second floor. She was taken into custody by Border Patrol.
3:14 p.m.: An employee reported a driver ran over the tip of his shoe damaging it in Lot B-1 on the Brownsville campus. He reported no injuries but said the driver did not stop.
10:38 p.m.: An officer responded to two students seen pushing each other in Lot B-4 on the Brownsville campus. One student reported being assaulted by contact but refused to file charges. Both left without further incident.
Sept. 10
10:40 a.m.: An officer responded to a loose dog in the University Library on the Brownsville campus. The dog was secured in the Police Department kennel until Animal Control arrived.
6:10 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a man seen drinking alcohol at an outdoor table in the Village Apartments on the Edinburg campus. A resident assistant said the man refused to identify himself and left before police arrived. Officers could not locate him.
11:06 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of two dogs in the area in the University Library on the Brownsville campus. The dogs were secured in the Police Department kennel until Animal Control arrived.
Sept. 11
1:20 p.m.: An employee reported seeing an unknown man manually open the Casa Bella gate on the Brownsville campus. The incident is under review.
Sept. 12
4:14 p.m.: An officer responded to a student accidentally spilling a beaker in the Science Complex on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported. Environmental Health, Safety & Risk Management was notified.
11:35 a.m.: Officers and McAllen Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at UT Health RGV Cancer and Surgery Center. It was determined a smoke detector was activated by a vacuum cleaner. The building was cleared and safe, and Environmental Health, Safety & Risk Management was notified.
7:31 p.m.: An officer found a non-affiliated woman lying on the sidewalk near Lot E-36 on the Edinburg campus. She said she collapsed after feeling dizzy and was transported to the hospital by Emergency Medical Services.
8:38 p.m.: A man reported an event staff member disposed of his cigarettes after he left them at check-in at the Robert and Janet Vackar Stadium in Edinburg.
Sept. 14
9:23 p.m.: Officers responded to a student who reported finding a snake in her dorm in Unity Hall on the Edinburg campus. The officer removed the snake and released it outside without incident.
