“Well, in my opinion, Kobe left behind his legacy, the ‘Mamba Mentality.’ And that mentality is, like, it doesn’t matter if you are hurting, it doesn’t matter what you’re going through but you’re always going to push forward and keep … trying your best to be the best at whatever you do. And that’s the type of legacy he left behind and that’s why he has impacted not just the sports world but everybody in general.”

“Personally, I wasn’t super affected by his death, but I understand the impact that his death had on the rest of the world. I feel incredibly sorry for his family and anyone affected by his death. I think he had an important message for a lot of young individuals, especially being an African American male, he was a role model to that community, and I think that people [will] remember him for years to come and I think that, overall, it’s a very sad time. I think people would want to remember him and get over his death, per say and continue to move on and live their life normally.”

“Conmigo no tuvo mucho impacto porque yo no veo mucho basketball. … A mi, por ejemplo, me gusta el fútbol y si alguien o mi jugador favorito de fútbol se hubiera muerto pues hubiera dejado un impacto en mi. Y supongo que así fue para los que juegan basketball que son [seguidores]. A veces los niños muy pequeños [lo ven como ejemplo] y pues, si quieren ser basquetbolistas … [se basan en él]. Y pues que se haya muerto fue un gran impacto en ellos y si, mucha gente si esta muy triste por eso”.
