“I’ll be attending HESTEC this next weekend. I think it’s pretty great, like, for kids. They get to see a lot of opportunities, they get to know a little bit about technology and science and that would increase, like, a motivation to do something in the future when they get to college.”

“Yo creo que HESTEC es una oportunidad muy grande para los estudiantes de ingeniería, ya que los reclutadores que se presentan en este [evento] … pues vienen cada año. A veces cambian a veces no, y te van conociendo, van sabiendo de ti, de tu currículum. Vas tú creando y agregando skills para que en el día mañana, en un futuro, estas empresas grandes, ejemplos como Toyota … Harley Motors … y entre otras pues se fijen en ti, te vayan conociendo y vayan viendo que lleves un GPA bueno, que tus intereses y pues, más que nada, que apoyen a tu currículum a crecer. … Crecer tanto educativamente como profesionalmente y puedas llegar a trabajar para una de estas grandes empresas en un futuro”.

“HESTEC? I don’t know, I haven’t really heard about it, honestly. Like, I know there’s an event this weekend at UTRGV Edinburg, but I’m not really sure I’m going to go to that. I’m not as informed, because they don’t really have flyers anywhere around school. There’s no billboards or anything about it pretty much.”

I wish that there was someone or something that could provide even more information about it; that way, not only I’m knowledgeable about it, but everyone else in, like, the community, is able to know more about it and how to support it and so far.”
