Decorating Contest

Student Activities will host a Door Decorating contest. Contestants must decorate using UTRGV gear and memories. Photos can be submitted through Instagram @utrgvstudentactivities or emailed to studentactivities@utrgv.edu by Friday. The winner will receive a free UTRGV diploma frame. This event is part of Grad Week. 

Design Contest

Student Activities will host a Grad Cap Design contest. Participants must take a screenshot, digitally create, draw or if they have their cap and materials, send their design to studentactivities@utrgv.edu or Instagram @utrgvstudentactivities by noon Thursday. The winner will receive a free UTRGV diploma frame.  This event is part of Grad Week.

Trick Shot Challenge 

University Recreation will host the Trick Shot Challenge. Participants must upload a video that is no more than 20 seconds of themselves doing a trick shot. This includes indoor golf putting/chipping, soccer shots, Ping-Pong balls and socks in laundry, etc. Upload to https://buff.ly/2RUzCtg by 11:59 p.m. May 1. 

Social Media Contest, Phase 1 

The Student Union will host Sunny Side Up, a social media contest consisting of three phases, today through Thursday. Phase 1 will be a like, share and comment campaign on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. One video will be released per day. Today’s video https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=695397641274552. Participants’ names will be placed in a drawing for prizes. The winners will be announced April 30.

Wednesday

Workshop

Leadership and Mentoring will conduct a How to Unlock Your Authentic Career workshop at 7 p.m. RSVP through VLink. Zoom ID: 745-741-2472. 

Movie Premiere

Student Activities will throw a Netflix Watch Party featuring “The Karate Kid” from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. RSVP through Student Activities’ VLink by noon to get the Netflix Party link. 

Exercise Sessions

University Recreation will conduct a Yoga session at 12:15 p.m. and Zoomba at 5:30 p.m. Zoom ID: 211-760-632.

Earth Day Presentation

The Environmental Awareness Club will host a presentation, titled “Teach-In: Earth Day and the Border Wall,” at 11 a.m. on Facebook and Instagram.

Eco Workshop

The Environmental Awareness Club will host an Eco Bricks workshop at noon via Zoom. Check the club’s social media accounts for the Zoom link.

Panel Discussion

The Environmental Awareness Club will host a panel discussion on Social Movements and Environment Justice at 2 p.m. via Facebook Live.

Mindfulness Workshop

The Environmental Awareness Club will host a Healing Meditation, Earth Warrior Yoga and Mindfulness workshop at 3:30 p.m. via Zoom. Check the club’s social media accounts for the Zoom link.

Earth Day Discussion

Book Club

The Student Union will host the InqSpot Book Club at 12:15 p.m. via Zoom. RSVP through VLink to get the Zoom link. Download “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott for free here: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/514. Participants will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win  UTRGV apparel. 

Virtual Escape Room

The Campus Activities Board will host a Virtual Escape Room from noon to 2 p.m. RSVP on VLink to get the access code.

Student Union will host a “Learn How to Draw Your Own Self-Portrait” session taught by Lecturer Carl Vestweber at 12:30 p.m. RSVP on VLink.

Student Activities will host Live Caricatures with Fastest Artist Adam Pate from 2 to 5 p.m. RSVP by noon Friday on Student Activities’ VLink. Graduates can add their grad caps. The event is part of Grad Week.

The Student Union’s Sunny Side Up social media contest is accepting posts of participants’ favorite made or bought breakfast meals from Friday through Sunday. Participants’ names will be placed in a drawing for prizes. The winners will be announced April 30.
