Book Drive

The Office of Global Engagement and its supporting units are hosting a Book Drive until Friday to help the Preparatoria Ricardo Flores Magón of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, build its English library. New or gently used books can be dropped off in Main Building 1.308 on the Brownsville campus and in Student Academic Center 3.128 on the Edinburg campus. For more information, call 882-7092.

The Power of Perceptions

The Student Leadership Academy will present a workshop in effective communications at 12:30 p.m. in Salón Cassia on the Brownsville campus. On the Edinburg campus, the event will take place at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Cenizo Room. For more information, email leadership@utrgv.edu.

Keep Calm and Vaquero On

The UTRGV Counseling Center will host workshops on stress management. In Edinburg, the workshop will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the Student Union’s Oleander Room and will focus on how to stay calm during stressful situations and identifying triggers. In Brownsville, the workshop is scheduled at 2 p.m. in the Student Union’s Salón Jacaranda and will center on reducing the negative, emotional, physical and mental health symptoms caused by stress. Distinguished Artist Series

Performer, instructor and composer Andrew Zohn will perform at 7 p.m. in the Texas Southmost College Performing Arts Center on the Brownsville campus. ‘Barefoot in the Park’

The UTRGV Theatre Department will present Neil Simon’s “Barefoot in the Park” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14-17 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Albert L. Jeffers Theatre on the Edinburg campus. Sort-A-Thon
