The following are among the incidents reported to University Police between Sept. 1 and 10.
Sept. 1
9:25 a.m.: A student reported an unknown individual took his unsecured scooter from the bike rack near the Liberal Arts Building South on the Edinburg campus. The case is under investigation.
1:44 p.m.: Officers responded to an unaffiliated man who was making students uncomfortable at the library on the Edinburg campus. The man was escorted off campus. No crime had occurred.
2:06 p.m.: A student reported that his unsecured scooter was stolen from the bike rack near the Library on the Edinburg campus. The case is under investigation.
2:23 p.m.: An employee reported being shoved by a student in Lot E18 on the Edinburg campus after a parking citation was issued to the student. No injuries were reported. The case is under investigation.
4:05 p.m.: An officer responded to a call regarding a university shuttle involved in a traffic collision. No injuries were reported.
4:55 p.m.: A student reported an unknown vehicle struck her car in Lot E16 on the Edinburg campus. The case is under investigation.
Sept. 2
12:41 p.m.: An officer responded to a call at the Main Building on the Brownsville campus regarding a student who was stuck inside an elevator. The individual declined medical assistance and no injuries were reported.
6:53 p.m.: Officers responded to a call at the Texas Child Mental Health building on the Edinburg campus regarding a woman acting erratically outside. Prior to the officers arrival the woman was arrested by the Edinburg Police Department.
Sept. 3
9:07 a.m.: A female student reported a suspicious man who was making students uncomfortable at the library on the Edinburg campus. No criminal elements had occurred.
1:04 p.m.: Officer responded to a call at the Student Union on the Edinburg campus regarding a student who was choking. The student said they were OK and declined medical services.
4 p.m.: A student reported a verbal dispute between her and another student regarding a parking spot in Lot E16 on the Edinburg campus. No criminal elements were met.
10:25 p.m.: A student reported she injured her knee during The Stomp event. The student refused emergency medical services .
11:54 p.m.: Officers responded to a call at the Health & Physical Education II area on the Edinburg campus regarding an intoxicated man at The Stomp event. The man was arrested on a charge of public intoxication and transported to the Edinburg Police Department jail for booking. Officers issued the man a trespass warning for all UTRGV properties.
Sept. 4
12:54 a.m.: An employee reported that a university golf cart he had parked was stolen at the Education Complex on the Edinburg campus. The cart was located. After reviewing CCTV footage, it was determined that four unknown individuals used the golf cart without authorization. The case is under investigation.
8:31 p.m.: A student reported injuring his eye during a volleyball game at the University Recreation on the Edinburg campus. The student refused medical transport and was driven home by his friend.
Sept. 5
7:50 a.m.: An employee requested a K-9 sweep for two UTRGV buses departing to UTSA, citing safety concerns. No criminal elements were found.
Sept. 6
10:46 p.m.: A student reported a welfare concern regarding a student believed to be a dorm resident. The student was not a dorm resident and said he resides in Starr County and is currently in Mexico with his family.
Sept. 7
11:48 p.m.: UTSA Police Sergeant notified a UTRGV officer regarding a student who received a trespass warning for their campus.
Sept. 8
1:55 p.m.: A Brownsville Casa Bella resident reported unwanted contact from a UTRGV employee. The resident wants to file criminal charges. The case is under investigation.
2:16 p.m.: A student reported ink stains scattered all over his vehicle in Lot E21 on the Edinburg campus. The student wants to file criminal charges. The case is under investigation.
Sept. 9
1:14 p.m.: A student reported damage to the mirror of his vehicle in Lot E28 on the Edinburg campus. It was determined the man had unintentionally caused the damage. The case is under investigation.
2:06 p.m.: A student reported damage to her front windshield at the Harlingen Health Affairs parking lot. The cause of the damage could not be determined.
2:24 p.m.: A Brownsville employee reported a slight shock to her hand while working at her desk during a lighting strike. The employee refused medical services.
2:24 p.m.: A second Brownsville employee reported a slight shock to her hand while working at her desk during a lighting strike. The employee refused medical services.
3:40 p.m.: A student reported a driver who rear-ended her and fled the scene on a road near the Edinburg campus. The driver and passenger reported no injuries. The case is under investigation.
8:34 p.m.: A female student reported a man who followed her from the Bronc Trail to her vehicle in Lot E16 on the Brownsville campus. The man had asked to speak with her but the student declined and said she was on the phone. It was determined no crime had occurred.
Sept. 10
5:06 a.m.: The Brownsville Police Department notified UTRGV Brownsville campus of a stolen vehicle near campus. After further investigation it was determined the incident posed no threat to the campus.
