On Friday UTRGV experienced a power outage. As of press time Friday, there has not been word of when the outage started or the cause. Multiple students waited in buildings that were open to get away from the heat and await further university updates on the outage.
“ I came in the 6 a.m. bus to campus for my political class,” civil engineering sophomore Marco Ruiz said. “I didn’t know there was an outage until I received the email.”
The campus was a ghost town as many students received a text at 9 a.m. Many left campus while others remained hopeful and waited longer to work on class assignments.
Power on campus resumed at 10 a.m.
