Today

Brushes and Bevs

Freshman Leadership Academy and the Center for Student Involvement will host a mindfulness awareness session from noon to 1 p.m. outside the Student Union on the Edinburg campus. Attendees can paint along with local artists, learn about mindfulness and how to destress. Supplies and lemonade will be  provided.

K.I.S.S Fundraiser 

The Korean International Student Society will sell stickers and snacks from 3:45 to 5 p.m. in Health Affairs Building West Room 1.406 on the Edinburg campus. 

Zumba

University Recreation will host a zumba session from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. in UREC Studio 1 on the Edinburg campus. It combines Latin and international music with dance moves to help improve cardiovascular fitness.

Tuesday

Stress & Anxiety Workshop 

The Learning Center will host a stress & anxiety workshop from 11 a.m. to noon via Zoom. ID: 819 0401 2324. Attendees can learn strategies to manage stress and anxiety, stay calm, focus and building habits for a healthier life. 

CRGV Tabling 

Christians at RGV will host a tabling event from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Student Union on the Edinburg campus.

ACJA Meeting

The American Criminal Justice Association Sigma Kappa Chi will meet from 2 to 3 p.m. in Liberal Arts Building South Room 309 on the Edinburg campus. Attendees can discuss new information about the organization with members and potential new members. 

Earth Day Climbing Competition

University Recreation will host an Earth Day Climbing Competition from 4 to 7 p.m. in the UREC climbing wall on the Edinburg campus. The top three students will get a prize and celebrate Earth Day. 

Wednesday

Impact Speaker

Clarissa Martinez, a lecturer in the School of Art and Design, will speak about her journey as an artist, the impact of visual storytelling and how art can be a powerful tool for community engagement and cultural expression from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the PlainsCapital Bank El Gran Salón on the Brownsville campus. The event is hosted by the Center for Student Involvement and Engaged Scholarship and Learning.

SVA Meeting 

Student Veterans of America will meet from 1 to 1:30 p.m. in University Center Room 307 on the Edinburg campus. Attendees can discuss veteran related issues, upcoming events and potential benefit opportunities. 

Thursday

Holy Mass

The Catholic Student Association will host a holy mass from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel on the Edinburg campus. Everyone is welcome to attend and gather in prayer to approach the Eucaristic Celebration. 

Psychology Club Meeting

The Psychology Club will meet at 3:30 p.m. in Student Academic Center Room 1.112 on the Edinburg campus.

Friday

SGA Senate Meeting

The Student Government Association will meet from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Music, Science, and Learning Center Room 1.111 on the Brownsville campus. Students will have a chance to voice a topic of importance to senators.

Saturday

AMSA Health Fair

The American Medical Student Association will host a fair from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brownsville Farmers Market, located at 1534 E. 6th St. Attendees can receive free snacks and health checks in the free community event promoting a healthy lifestyle for residents of the Valley.
