
The following are among the incidents reported to University Police between March 4 and 10.
March 4
8:31 a.m.: A student reported when he returned from class, he found damage to his vehicle in Lot E-42 on the Edinburg campus. The case is under investigation.
4:36 p.m.: An officer responded to a minor two-vehicle traffic collision in Lot E-19 on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported.
March 5
9:08 a.m.: Officer met with a student feeling ill in the Health Affairs Building West on the Edinburg campus. Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and evaluated the student who declined medical transport.
8:26 p.m.: A student fell and broke his arm while playing basketball in the University Recreation Center on the Edinburg campus. The student was transported by Emergency Medical Services to a hospital for further treatment.
March 6
8:04 a.m.: Officers responded to a loose canine in the Science Building on the Edinburg campus. An officer secured the canine and released it to the custody of Edinburg Animal Control.
12:08 p.m.: An officer met with a student who reported an unknown person stole his laptop in the University Library on the Edinburg campus. The case is under investigation.
1:30 p.m.: An officer responded to a verbal dispute between an employee and an unknown person over a parking matter in Lot E-19 on the Edinburg campus. It was determined no crime was committed.
3:28 p.m.: A student reported due to high wind gusts, a parking sign fell over and landed on the hood of her vehicle causing minor damage in Lot E-16 on the Edinburg campus.
March 7
12:52 a.m.: An officer noticed a pickup truck that seemed to be disabled in Lot E-25 on the Edinburg campus. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer found a non-affiliated male who appeared to be asleep inside. It was determined the man was under the influence and was subsequently arrested on a charge of public intoxication.
1:46 p.m.: A student reported while parked, an unknown person opened the front passenger door of a vehicle parked next to hers and accidentally struck her front fender in Lot E-16 on the Edinburg campus. The case is under investigation.
March 10
12:29 p.m.: An officer was dispatched for a traffic collision involving a university vehicle in Lot E-13 on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported.
