
The following are among the incidents reported to University Police between March 11 and 23.
March 11
12:18 p.m.: An officer responded to a minor two-vehicle traffic collision in Lot E-33 on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported.
4:32 p.m.: An employee reported a non-affiliated patient upset because her appointment was incorrect in the Research Education Building on the Edinburg campus. The patient began to scream vulgar language at the employee, who wishes to file criminal charges. The patient left the area before police arrived. The case is under investigation.
4:46 p.m.: An officer was dispatched regarding several laptops and a GoPro checked out to students and not returned to the University Library on the Brownsville campus. The case is under investigation.
March 12
4:07 p.m.: An employee reported an unknown person transmitted a sexually explicit act during a Zoom call event. The case is under investigation.
March 14
9:02 a.m.: A student reported receiving several scam phone calls from an unknown person who requested money. The case is under investigation.
11:49 a.m.: A non-affiliated man reported his vehicle being struck while it was left unattended in Lot H-5 on the Harlingen campus. The case is under investigation.
March 15
7:15 p.m.: Officers responded to an injured non-affiliated woman in the Baseball Stadium on the Edinburg campus. The individual refused emergency medical services.
March 17
9:40 a.m.: An employee reported a damaged exit sensor in Lot E-16 on the Edinburg campus. A work order was submitted for repairs.
March 18
7:44 p.m.: An employee reported finding a marijuana cigarette on the floor near the front desk in the University Recreation on the Edinburg campus. An officer retrieved the cigarette, which tested positive. It was submitted for destruction.
March 19
9:01 a.m.: Officers responded to a student stuck in an elevator in the Mathematics & General Classrooms Building on the Edinburg campus. The elevator was opened and the student was safely able to exit.
5:30 p.m.: A student reported being assaulted by an unknown man after a confrontation on the Bronc Trail on the Edinburg campus. The case is under investigation.
March 20
4:22 p.m.: An employee reported a witness informed her that an unknown person driving a truck struck her vehicle, which was parked and unattended in the UT Health RGV Multispecialty in Harlingen. The case is under investigation.
March 21
9:59 a.m.: An employee reported their vehicle was struck while unattended in Lot B-6 on the Brownsville campus. The case is under investigation.
1:22 p.m.: An officer responded to a minor two-vehicle traffic collision in Lot E-9 on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported.
March 23
1:07 p.m.: Officers were dispatched regarding a non-affiliated child who sustained a minor injury in the Baseball Stadium on the Edinburg campus. The child’s mother refused emergency medical services.
