The following are among the incidents reported to University Police between April 7 and 15.
April 7
1:11 p.m.: Officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision in Lot E-10 on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported.
3:48 p.m.: Officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision in Lot E-16 on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported.
4:24 p.m.: An employee reported finding graffiti on the third-floor men’s restroom in the University Center on the Edinburg campus. Officers photographed the writings and gathered additional information from the employee. The case is under investigation.
April 8
1:10 p.m.: Three students were stuck in an elevator due to a power outage in the University Library on the Edinburg campus. Campus Facilities Operations employees arrived on scene and assisted the students in safely exiting the elevator.
3:46 p.m.: An employee reported a university traffic cone was stolen from Lot E-10 on the Edinburg campus.
4:47 p.m.: Two non-affiliated individuals reported they were involved in a minor traffic collision in Lot E-4 on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported.
5:39 p.m.: An officer responded regarding statements written in pen on the first-floor men’s restroom in Sabal Hall on the Brownsville campus. A work order was submitted to remove the markings.
April 9
9:28 a.m.: Officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision in Lot E-3 on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported.
April 10
12:11 a.m.: An employee reported finding markings made with liquid white-out in the men’s restroom in the Science Building on the Edinburg campus.
12:51 p.m.: An officer observed a man yelling for help outside the UT Health RGV Cancer and Surgery Center in McAllen. The man was walking toward the building when he tripped and fell. The man was assisted inside to meet with the medical staff for evaluation. He refused Emergency Medical Services and later stated he was fine.
April 11
10:41 p.m.: An officer was flagged down by a student who requested assistance after his vehicle became stuck in the landscaping in Lot E-2 on the Edinburg campus. Minor landscaping damage was observed.
April 13
3:11 p.m.: An employee reported finding several markings at multiple locations within the Student Union on the Edinburg campus. Officers photographed the markings and gathered additional information from the employee. The case is under investigation.
11:57 p.m.: An employee reported he found his vehicle’s back window shattered, which was parked and unattended in Lot B-2 on the Brownsville campus. The case is under investigation.
April 14
7:47 a.m.: An officer observed statements written in pen on one of the stalls in the first-floor men’s restroom in the Interdisciplinary Academic Building on the Brownsville campus. A work order was submitted to have the markings removed. The case is under investigation.
1:38 p.m.: A student reported his vehicle’s front passenger side window was damaged by an unknown person while parked in Lot E-19 on the Edinburg campus. The case is under investigation.
2:36 p.m.: A student reported being struck by an unknown woman who was riding a scooter while on the Bronc trail on the Edinburg campus. The student reported minor injuries and declined Emergency Medical Services. The case is under investigation.
April 15
4:15 a.m.: An officer was dispatched regarding graffiti markings found on the first-floor men’s restroom in the Life and Health Science Building on the Brownsville campus. A work order was submitted to have the markings removed. The case is under investigation.
