Whatโs your favorite part of coaching volleyball? โThe biggest thing I like about coaching volleyball is we have the opportunity to impact peopleโs lives, itโs not just about volleyball. We get to teach them how to be a part of a team, get through life, how to work together and all those kind of things. On top of that, we love the game and itโs fun to come into the gym and play every day.โ
Whatโs your favorite place to eat off campus? โProbably, Kumori [sushi] because I love sushi and itโs good there.โ
How was the adjustment going from athlete to coach? โIt wasnโt that hard for me because I wasnโt an athlete the second part of my college career, so I had already started getting into the coaching side of it, you know, taking stats and those kind of things. The transition wasnโt that bad, but having to give up control, like you canโt go out there and do it yourself. You kind of have to try to be kind of the puppet master and get them to do things you want them to do is probably the hardest part.โ
How do you feel coaching this team? โThis teamโs a lot of fun. Iโm excited about this team because there is so much potential here, you know, and itโs a lot of fun every day to come to the gym and just see them continue to get better. And, getting to teach them things, not only volleyballwise, but also how to become a team and create a winning culture and all those things. Having a group that buys into that makes it fun to come to the gym every day.โ
Who is your favorite music artist? โI donโt really have anyone, but letโs go with Luke Bryan. I listen to everything, but probably, right now, thatโs at the top of my list.โ
Where would you go on your dream vacation? โI would go to Fiji. I love the beach and the warm weather, so Iโd like to see it some day.โ
